Co-hosted Classes with the Washington Glass School
We are proud to announce our new "Sister School" program with the Washington Glass School (www.washingtonglassschool.com). In an effort to provide wide-ranging opportunities for creative exploration, we now have some exciting classes cross-listed with the artists and educators at the Washington Glass School. If you are new to glass or want to explore the medium further, these classes offer a great opportunity to work with some great artists at two of the areas finest glass and sculpture studios.

Xtreme Lava Lover's Weekend: This X-treme class is the easiest way to learn all aspects of warm and hot glass and hot metal! In the shortest amount of time!

Casting! Casting! Casting!:
August kicks off a month of casting and welding at DC GlassWorks and Sculpture Studios. Check out our lineup of classes and learn to cast in glass and metal or continue exploring cast metal and glass sculptures.

Metal casting using the lost wax and resin bonded sand molds. Learn the basics of creating sand molds and how to get your ideas into bronze or aluminum.
Introduction to Hot Metal Casting 8/8 - 8/9 Sat/Sun 1:00-5:00

Create unique aluminum sculptures using the lost foam process. Get some friends or family together and take this class as a group.

Spend a week of evenings exploring casting hot glass casting using resin bonded sand and other molds. If you've never cast with molten glass straight out of the furnace, you are in for an amazing time.

Come in and work on molds or welded sculptures with our Open Studios for molds and welding. Take a week and create steel sculpture of your own design or work on molds for the 8/16 bronze and aluminum pour.

It's our goal to unleash your inner artist and help you design and make your own glass art works today. With the help of an instructor, you can create a unique glass art piece of your own design in glass. Bring a group for bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthdays, or family events. Open house September 12th, 2009
Our next Open House will be on September 12th. The event starts at 3:30 and will continue until 8:30 or so. Watch glassblowing demonstrations or try your hand at making a glass paperweight or flower. Please save the date and come on out and join us for part or all of the day!
